Osborne, Perlman return to Lincoln

Tom Osborne’s looking for a coach. Everyone else seems to be looking for airplanes.

The private airplane, tracked by Nebraskans since it ascended off a Lincoln runway on Sunday carrying Osborne and Harvey Perlman, touched down in the star city around 8:45 p.m. on Monday.

Stepping off the plane were Osborne and Perlman, the University of Nebraska Lincoln’s chancellor. There was no smiling football coach beside them.

Greeted by 20 or so reporters while walking to his vehicle, Perlman said it had “been a long day.”

Osborne, when asked if he had anything to say about the search, said, “No, nothing,” then added, “Thanks for coming. I know you had nothing better to do.”

Osborne was asked about the number of candidates and the timetable.

“I really don’t have anything to say until we finish this,” was his response.

I would guess the way he said it, it didn't sound like that. But yeah, long day, long plane ride.. maybe he was grouchy :P

Yeah, I'll definitely give TO the benefit of the doubt here. I can't imagine him saying this in an annoyed way, though he'd have every right to be annoyed.

Tom is not a young man.

Flying around the country for two days is not a lot of fun no matter how old you are.

He has been up for quite a few hours is my guess, and just wanted to get home and some sleep, because he most likely starts all over tomorrow.

Hell of schedule for an old man. Let's cut him some slack.
