To Hell With This Team

I'm generally a pretty level-headed guy. I don't like things getting personal. I like to stay objective. But I was sociopathically observing the boards here after getting back from the movies, and I read a CU fan who posted something to the effect of "where's the rage?" and something just snapped.

Well, here we go.

F*ck this team.

I don't care what excuses you have. I don't care that Bill "Worthless" Callahan is our coach, or Kevin "Destroyer of Defenses" Cosgrove is our DC. This team is by far, without question, the most worthless piece of sh#t excuse for a football team I have ever seen fielded in the history of college athletics. F*cking Baylor now has reason to go, "Whoa, I feel bad for those guys."

There is no excuse for this. There is absoultely no excuse. If I were this pathetic, worthless, half-assed girlscout troop, I would pull on my panties and go forfeit the next two games. Please, for the love of God, don't go out there with those Ns on your helmet again. Don't humiliate yourselves or your fans any more. For awhile I was irked at the fans who went and screamed at the players during the games, but this isn't the booze talking with me. I'm not yelling at the players on game day, but I'm saying it now: this herd of invalids don't deserve to call themselves Huskers. I literally get a sick feeling in my stomach when I see a picture, read a newspaper comment, or––worst of all––watch something on TV that reminds me these assclowns are still wearing that glorious red N next to their pigtails.

Do I feel out of line maligning these players? No, I absolutely do not. Any why? Because they gave zero effort today. Every pass went for twenty yards, 75% of the runs for ten. No pressure, no fire, no nothing. A few lucky breaks, and then another meltdown. The team is dead inside, just dead. I may not know much, but I do know that if these idiots had half a clue about who they play for, what team they are, that their knowledge and passion alone would have kept this game from becoming what it was. But they don't, and it's painfully obvious on both sides of the ball. No power, no heart, no intelligence, no playmaking ability, no intangibles. Every possible category you can look at (sanz the kicking game) is an embarrassment to the Nebraska tradition.

And I despise Bill Callahan and these worthless hacks for it. I don't know if I'll ever forgive them for calling themselves Huskers and then playing like they have. It's unbearable. I don't know if I'll make it another two games. It won't do any good, but fire Clownahan tomorrow, toss Coz in the nearest river, and get someone in there that will at least bench every starter we have. Hell, maybe we'll get lucky and give KSU a game after their impressive showing against the Cyclones.

I never dreamed it would come to this. But I'm just exhausted by disappointment.

What Nebraska needs is a coach who understands the passion and history that is Nebraska Football. NC State was having the same problem with their basketball team. They went out and hired Sidney Lowe a former player and he got them fired up. When they came out for their first rivalry game he was wearing a bright red State-colored blazer. The fans went hysterical!!! Needless to say they won. They played with more fire and intensity than anyone had seen in years. That is the kind of coach you need.

We probably all feel that way but man busting the players balls for not producing I can't agree with.

BC collapsed a pro-team, so I can't expect amatuer athletes to overcome what the pros couldn't.

In the movie The Replacements, Keanu Reeves talks about being in quick sand. Unfortunately, I had the priviledge to play for coaches just like these in high school. After a while, you just get used to losing. Then you begin to play for your own statistics. Finally, you just play to not get hurt.

This is EXACTLY what I had a hankering for! Awesome job, in all seriousness (and I'm not trying to take an ideological stance as to whether or not people "should" talk about their team in a negative way or not) that was a fantastic rant. Extra points for the girl scout troop comment, that was absolutely golden.

I've read about 50 of these directed at the Buffs after today's game, so please don't think I take any great pleasure from seeing the Huskers like this... it just acts as some nice cold comfort after my Buffs got shellacked by 45 (hey, you guys only lost by 37!).

Husker X,

Dude, get a life. You act like "this team" owes you something. I've got a newflash: They don't.

You say, "I don't like things getting personal. I like to stay objective."

Then you get nothing but personal with, "F*ck this team," and, "Bill 'Worthless' Callahan," and, "This team is by far, without question, the most worthless piece of sh#t excuse for a football team I have ever seen fielded in the history of college athletics," and, "pathetic, worthless, half-assed girlscout troop," and, "this herd of invalids don't deserve to call themselves Huskers," and, "assclowns," and, "embarrassment to the Nebraska tradition," and, "worthless hacks," and, "Clownahan."

You add, "I literally get a sick feeling in my stomach when I see a picture, read a newspaper comment, or––worst of all––watch something on TV that reminds me these assclowns are still wearing that glorious red N next to their pigtails."

Wow. You are just the sort of nut who needs to get a hobby - other than trash-talking, namecalling, or living-your-life-through-a-college-team-who-don't-owe-you-squat.

I'll never understand why people get so bent out of shape over a football team. If the worst thing that happened to you today is the Huskers got their a$$ kicked, then, you my friend had a great day.

Take minute to enjoy life and get your head out of the great big Husker butt. We're talking football, dude. Freaking football.

Sincerely,

getalife

Oh ya I forgot to mention that this post is a potential riot waiting to happen.

To the shed and let it rip!!!!!

I think the only reason I haven't reached the same level of rage is because it's hard for me to identify this team as the same Nebraska Huskers I've cheered for since I was six years old. Instead I just feel numb to the whole thing. I was more pissed off after USC, now I think I'm just more apathetic, as if I was watching this collapse happen to Wyoming or some team that doesn't really matter to me. THIS IS NOT NEBRASKA FOOTBALL. THESE ARE NOT NEBRASKA PLAYERS AND COACHES. We need a whole new coaching staff and a bunch of new starters for next year, and they better start playing with some passion QUICKLY or else I worry we've become the new Alabama.

^Hardly a "Woodshed" worthy post, but hey. :)

I'm actually not upset anymore about these losses because I've excepted the fact that we are probably going to finish the season 4-8 and then the execution will come. I'll be surprised if all these coaches are still around next Saturday! I want to see someone gone this week.......................a sacrificial lamb would be nice!
