Today, the Littlest, Toughest Husker of them all took his last round of chemo. Here's hoping it's his last - ever.

Jack Hoffman draws crowd, cheers at CWS

Jack Hoffman took the Sharpie and spelled out his first name in big block letters on a fan's T-shirt Monday afternoon.

The 7-year-old from Atkinson, Neb., paused and looked up at the big screen at Omaha Baseball Village outside of TD Ameritrade Park. His now famous run during Nebraska's spring game was on.

Jack's final day of chemotherapy is Tuesday, and the people at the village, run by the Old Mattress Factory, wanted to make sure he had a little fun, spokeswoman Jenny Peters said.

I only have Woodshed Words for cancer, so I'll keep it civil. Here's to a full recovery and a long life for Young Master Hoffman.

Go Big Red, little man. :bigredn:

The kid is a dang warrior....anyone who goes through chemo and radiation to rid themselves of cancer is a true warrior in my book. I can't fathom what they have to go through....I hope and pray that this is his last round of chemo.

Thanks for letting us know Knappic. (My sister-in-law is going through chemo right now. I'll be glad when I can read she is finished as well.) GO TEAM JACK!

Removal of a port is a pretty huge deal. I've seen them left in for years after chemo, "just in case."

Really, really happy to see they're taking out his port. It's not a guarantee, but it's a big step.
