Today was Jack's last day of chemo

Removal of a port is a pretty huge deal. I've seen them left in for years after chemo, "just in case."

Really, really happy to see they're taking out his port. It's not a guarantee, but it's a big step.
+1 Thanks for the update knapp. Also, he just had birthday, hope to see him have many more.

Awesome news! Stay strong Jack!

GO TEAM JACK

Leaving a portacath in an adult is not a real large health issue. Leaving one in a child who is growing can be problematic.

Ha. This is great. Keep on chuggin kid.

I just wish my son could meet Jack one day. That was quite a moment at the spring game last year when he got to do that run. Explaining to my 5 year old son why that was happening how sick he was was a pretty emotional deal. Now my son talks about it all the time. Every now and then, we have to youtube that play. It's safe to say Jack is my son's hero. And that is special.

So... there hasn't been any sort of official announcement or confirmation, but there's a lot of posts going around right now that Jack Hoffman has passed... :(
