Top 25

I am not sure why people are suprised that there is no love from the pollsters. Even when Nebraska was in its glory years it seemed to get no respect compared to Florida, ND, etc. Unless your Big 10 or Pac 10 (or ND) there is no love for you on the national level. Just need to keep winning and play Texas in the Big 12 Championship and then win there.

Last time I read polls in the paper...if you were 26th and 29th you were in a section

"Still Receiving Votes." From my perspective we are still on the outside. Now for a positive note...I did read somewhere we were supposed to crack the Top 25 in the BCS...that would be cool. But let's call the numbers what they really are.

Let me say one thing related to the polls...If you have read any of my threads, I make a lot of comments related to the past glory days of Husker Football. I believe national media is thinking the same thing...Nebraska used to dominate, what has happened. Like me, they expect to see shades of the old Huskers, and then when they don't...the result is Not being Ranked. People are not used to mediocrity in Lincoln. I agree with one thread...we have not played anyone except Tech, and the rest of the schedule has gone downhill throughout the year. If we are going to be ranked, and NOT "STILL RECEIVING VOTES" then first of all we must win, then keep improving, and maybe bring in a touch of some of the old GLORY DAYS...Dominate the opponents we are supposed to. And in response to the comment about teams with 2 losses. Even though it does not seem fair...let's look at the facts...Notre Dame would beat us, Ohio State would beat us, Michigan State would beat us. With our schedule and the teams that are already in there, we are right where we should be.

Explain Fresno St, TCU, and #11-13 team BC to me. None of them have beat anyone. BC gave up 30 to Wake and TCU lost to SMU. Didn't Baylor beat SMU?

yep... thats y they are polls... those people that vote dont watch half of the games neways... they just look at the win loss column (maybe) and take it from how many players they know on the team.

two things.........no, we are not dominating lesser quality teams........for 2 reasons, parity is more dominate than ever before and we are still acquiring better players, which we need to dominate and refining a new offensive scheme, yes we are making progress....

the other is strenthen of schedule, we can't change that right now, but by scheduling USC and better teams, which we are in the process of doing, we will get the recognition we are looking for, about the time we get the players and system established which will make us again competitive......

ah patience folks, this thing will change and we will get there, relax and try to enjoy the ride....it will be a bit longer than most of us want......
