1. Tommie Frazier, Nebraska, started from 1992-1995: He's certainly not the most accurate passer on this list, but you'd be hard-pressed to find a signal-caller who could help you win more games. Frazier won back-to-back national championships in 1994 and 1995, and he was Nebraska's bowl MVP for three straight seasons. On top of that, the College Football Hall of Famer also made both the Walter Camp and Sports Illustrated all-century teams, the only "B1G" quarterback to do so. His numbers weren't incredible, but some of the plays he made were. Just take a look at this run, for example.

It seems strange that the All time best Big Ten QB is Tommie Frazier who never played in the big ten at all, though he may have played against several teams in his career.

Funny but I always thought Bob Griese played for Michigan. LOL He was such a Michigan 'homer' calling games back in the late 90s and loved to bash the Huskers I thought. I guess his son played for them and that was enough to make him so biased.

 
It does seem weird, but I love seeing Touchdown Tommie on the top of their list. I grew up making fun of the Big 10 because they were a conference of "has beens" and now we are one of them.

As much history and prestige as the B1G has historically, great quarterback play is not really part of it.

 
Purdue has two hall of Famers in Griese and Dawson. Brees will be in Canton. Brady is one of the best ever from Michigan.

For that reason, I pretty much always ignore any lists that try to compile the "best B1G **** of all time" or similar. I've seen some that try to include players like Suh, who never once played a snap of B1G football.

Frazier didn't even play for the Big 12.

 
Great! That would mean Tommy might be the only QB who could be at the top of TWO conference lists!

Also why did they hit his accuracy first thing? Obviously with all the wins and championships he was not tossing up a bunch of picks!

You mean Tommie? As in Frazier?

And it's possible he could be the top in 3 conferences, theoretically.

Seems like some poll had Vince Young being the top in the Big 12. Probably written by a texas homer.

 
Some time ago (on a plant far away perhaps) I remember seeing an article stating that Frasier was the best college QB ever- not the best passer or pro prospect, but the best over all winner and what he did for his team.

This is oddly true. A lot of perfectly decent Big 10 quarterbacks go on to productive and lucrative NFL careers -- especially lately -- but I don't recall them wowing many people in college.

I still don't understand professional teams coveting Connor Cook, but I'll probably be proved wrong on that one, too.

This sent me back to Big 10 All Time Records to find Tommy Armstrong is currently #39 in all-time passing yards, and with a modest 2,400 yard season in 2016 he would jump up into the Big Ten's All Time Top 10.
