6. USC at Nebraska, Sept. 15

If Nebraska is ready to make a statement and show that the program is back to being among the elite of the elite, this is the game to do it. Last year, USC beat the Huskers 28-10 with surprising ease, but it seemed like the Nebraska coaching staff left the offensive gameplan in Lincoln. With former Arizona State quarterback Sam Keller likely at the Husker helm, there will be plenty of bombs and plenty of big plays against the best USC defense yet under head coach Pete Carroll. The Trojans will get a warmup game against Idaho before getting two weeks off to prepare, while Nebraska will have played Nevada and at Wake Forest. Nebraska will play well, and the atmosphere will be one of the best anywhere this season, but USC got to be USC by winning games like this. After withstanding an early barrage, and a stunning deficit, the Trojans will coolly and calmly get back into the game early in the fourth quarter, and then the defense will do the rest with two big interceptions of Keller to change things around.

Predicted score in July: USC 27 ... Nebraska 20

That's probably fair... hopefully we can prove them wrong

 
hopefully it will be the other way around, usc up by a few just trying to cost threw the 4th qt. when jones pics off booty to back up his mouth from last year and hopefully the huskers switch the MO. around and pull withing a score and then hold usc again to take the lead and hold on threw the rest of the 4th!

but odds makers usually give 7 points for home field advantage, and that would mean that they think that USC would win anywhere else by 14+

I predict a high scoring game with NU jumping out 14-0 but USC slowly coming back and at halftime it be 14-10 USC.

Coming out of the second half , SC has the ball they score to make it 17-14. Then Keller has a pass deflected and returned for a TD on the next play to make it 24-14

NU gets the ball back and scores a FG to make it 24-17.

In the 4th, Booty has a pass picked by Jones close to the goal line and returned to the NU 33.

And then in similar fashon to the A&M game NU marches down the field to make it 24-24 to go to overtime.

In overtime, SC scores on one play. We face a 4th and 3, pass to Swift for 10 yards then Glenn takes it in to make it 31-31.

Going into OT number 2, Nu gets the ball first and Keller throws one to Nunn who takes it in to make it 38-31. Booty gets sacked for an 8 yard loss to make it second and 18. On the next play, he then competes a 30 yard pass to put them very close to a score. From there, the NU D does not allow another yard and we win

idk , just my dream game. Most likely for sure wont happen that way

That sounds way too stressful...reminds me of the 97 Mizzou game.

 
My dream scenario of the USC game:

We take the opening kickoff for a TD

USC fumbles their first kickoff and NU takes it for a TD

USC gets the ball on offense and goes 3 and out

Keller throws for a long TD

and then they just keep scoring and blow them out

So if NU is up 14-0, and USC comes back so it's 14-10 USC at halftime...did NU lose pts???

This reminds me of the old A&M joke. During an A&M vs Texas game many years ago, Texas was up 21-0 at the half. The A&M coach was so mad, he made his team stay on the field during halftime. By the time Texas returned to the field to start the second half, A&M had narrowed the score to 21-14. :)

Man O' Man this is going to be a very tough and intense game to watch. But lets say, given the scenario, Nebraska fights to stay in it the entire game and ends up winning it by 3-points......my prediction - NU:27 USC:24
