Top "Five" Things We Know from Husker Practice

1) The defense is way ahead of the offense. The defensive line is at times dominating the offensive line during practices.
This could just mean the D is playing with a HUGE chip on it's shoulder and copious amounts of confidence. It could also be a good thing for the Offense since we could be playing some pretty good D's this year.

And it could mean that we have no offensive line just like last year, getting beat by a defensive line that was the worst in the Big 12 does not inspire confidence.

This just does not sound good to me. Sorry for the doom and gloom but that is a very scary comment to even think about.

I find that hard to believe. They may show flashes and have good plays now and then.

Let me clarify something, please, because there seems to be some confusion & simple misunderstanding.

The O-line is deep with experience. They are looked upon highly because of this and only this. Do not interpret it as the prize of the team.

Writers seem to have overemphasized this to great proportion. The O-line is experienced. Indeed. You can shuffle in guys and they pick up the offense. They know the offense. They know the playbook. (see a theme yet?). Just because of that, it does not translate into "the next great pipeline" whatsoever.

They need every bit as much hard work and improvement as any part of the team. These hogs need to dominate the line of scrimmage vs OU before they ever pat each other on the shoulder. If that's not the goal, not the case, then enjoy the false high-fives against Eastern Pennsylvania and Waco Tech.

You have to be better then the best. This O-Unit needs to hear that & the writers who are reporting their warm fuzzy stories are not quite understanding the big picture.

The Defenses are almost ALWAYS ahead of the Offense the 1st few weeks of Practice.

Even in '83, when we had "The Triplets", it was about even.

I still don't expect as much from our Offense as I do our Defense..Mainly because I think our Offensive stats were a little inflated last season..I'm hoping for more ball control/clock killing O this season.

I could swear that I heard someone on 1620 (Joel Makovicka?) say that Coach Pelini went to Watson and asked what the heck happened last year? There is plenty of talent on the D.

I heard that last Saturday, Bo wasn't going to give the team a day off on last Sunday if they were going to have another piss poor practice. Turns out they got their heads out of their a$$es and got it together to get Sunday off.

WAY TO GO BO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :clap

Why would Watson even know what happened to the D last year? I would be very concerned if the OC was watching the D enough last year to even know what went wrong.

Hell...Callahan never let him do anything like actually call plays or run the offense till the end of the season. What else did he have to do?

I just called Bo and told him a spy from the Buffs was on his way over to sneak some footage of an NU practice....let me know where he shoves your camera.
Yup, I'm spying from the buffs, that is why I have lived on campus for 3 years, take classes at UNL full time and live and die huskers, tutor at the hewit athletic center, and my roomate for the summer is on the fball team. You completely figured me out!
