Some of the technical aspects don’t vibe.   A Captain (O-6) doing training exercises?

I never to fully enjoy Top Gun.  I watched it with my father who is an ex fighter pilot...  i heard "bulls#!t"  a lot during the movie.  Took a lot of the magic out

I had the GI Joe F-14. Coolest toy I owned as a kid.

It was really cool when you landed the F-14 on the U.S.S. Flagg.

My father is a stickler for any movie which features the USMC.

Same.  He was in the USMC.  But is a stickler for any branch for that matter.  Gets mad when people give s#!tty salutes or salute people that shouldn't be saluted

I'm about 110% sure I won't see it.  Some things are better left as they were. 

No Breakfast Club at the Nursing Home 2019, no Ferris Bueller's Day Off The Day Before His Retirement, and no Top Gun 2.

I feel like sometimes people forget it is a movie and not a documentary.  

Like for instance...the other day I watched Halloween and some of it was really accurate...like the date...the costumes...kids getting candy...then some of it was less accurate...like the dude that killed everyone...caught people without running while they ran...and being shot and stabbed but not dying.  For a minute I was like "Hold on now...wait a minute"  

But then I remembered it was a movie.

This movie is going to shatter some records.  I don't think opening weekend will shatter anything but I think it will be pulling in a steady stream of cash for a long a$$ time in the theaters.
