Transfers, Cosgrove

I don't hate Cosgrove, I just don't think he's much of a coach or coordinator. His team did lose their blackshirts after all. No hard feelings though. Good luck to Kevin and the gophers..I guess..........
i hope he does a better job there then he did at nebraska or he will not be there long.

Hetzer and Donahue leaving open up 2 needed spots for 2009 recruiting class. FYI there will be more guys leaving than these 2.

Cosgrove wasn't bad as the D coordinator at Wisconsin...and its a lot easier to stop big 10 offenses, just pack the box and stop the run since none of the teams can pass worth a damn.
The Wisconsin fans I talk to said thank you over and over again for taking him....they could not stand him. If this is true, I am going to laugh extremely hard. With the new stadium they are going to suck and let everyone beat them.

A friend of mine happened to be in Madison when it was announced Cosgrove would be joining Callahan's staff, he said there were parties city wide. Again, I've got nothing personal against the man, I'm just glad he's gone. 114th in scoring defense, 112th in total defense, and 116th in rush defense. Yeah, just glad he's gone.

tis true, my cousin attended madison every student was thrilled.

Getting back to Hetzer, he was a strange get. It was either his Juco coach or HC coach who wasn't that impressed with him. He said Hetzer was "too stiff". After reading that, I couldn't understand why he was recruited.

Do tell.

I'm not gonna lie. I don't have very good will for Cosgrove. It isn't nice and maybe a little immature but I don't think that guy should ever coach D1 again.

The Cosgrove thing has been rumors since Feb of last year

I Doubt this holds water.

Sorry for the link away from this site but I wanted to show this "story" has been around for a while.

well...

University of Minnesota head football coach Tim Brewster named Kevin Cosgrove as the Gophers’ co-defensive coordinator Friday. In addition, Brewster announced the promotion of defensive backs coach Ronnie Lee to co-defensive coordinator.
“We are very excited to announce Kevin Cosgrove as our new co-defensive coordinator,” Brewster said. “Coach Cosgrove brings a wealth of experience in the Big Ten as both a coach and recruiter. Plus, he possesses a long track record of developing outstanding defenses. But, perhaps more importantly, Kevin is a great person and an outstanding fit on our staff.
