My first reaction was similar but after thinking about it more I think that the ending fit the show perfectly. How many times was there some variation of "nothing is ever solved!" from Rust? Also, it felt a lot more realistic that all of the ends weren't tied up with pretty bow . . . and of course the people in high places escape responsibility. Maddening, sure, but also unsurprising.Just watched the final episode. I have to say I was a little disappointed. I think they just wrapped up everything a little to quick for me. Plus they never got into the family dynamic of the killer very well.
You are probably right. I just felt that the last episode moved too fast. I mean, Marty looks at a picture of a green house and then all of a sudden they are chasing the guy through Carcosa. I thought maybe it needed another 1-2 episodes to develop the ending. And the very end where Marty is talking to Rust about the stars was kind of dumb.My first reaction was similar but after thinking about it more I think that the ending fit the show perfectly. I wanted more. I wanted a grand takedown of the entire group. I wanted justice. Instead we were hit with a dose of reality. In the end, I think that was better.
I agree that the should have strung it out a little more. It felt like the show was slowly building for 7 episodes . . . and then 2-3 episodes worth of story were wrapped up in one episode. You are probably right. But it was still very gripping and had me on the edge the whole time. Just ended too quickly.
**BUMP**
Wow, the end of second season episode 2. Just wow.
Ray (Colin Farrell) was like the main character. And some guy in a raven mask blasts Ray in the chest with a shotgun? WTH??
Gotta say, Detective Ani isn't exactly a raving beauty or anything. But there's something about her that's HOT! (Rachel McAdams)
Alexandra DaddarioJust started it last night--3 episodes in... not going to read anything people write here till i get caught up.
Also, the girl in the second episode cans were glorious.
