I never really have given thought to the two O line coach system, but the bolded part certainly makes me a believer.LINCOLN — Nebraska may return to a two-coach system for the offensive line, similar to the one employed in the Tom Osborne era with Milt Tenopir and the late Dan Young.
...
“It didn't take a rocket scientist to know we had two coaches for the offensive line,” Tenopir said. “It was advantageous to what we were doing at the time, and it was different than how a lot of other teams operated.”
After all, the line makes up five of 11 positions on offense, 45 percent. Wouldn't it work better to devote two of five offensive coaches? “From a sheer numbers standpoint,” Zatechka said, “it does seem to make sense.”
