Tyler Gabbert quits MethU

Gabbert was on campus at FCS Missouri State (my alma matter) yesterday, has the potential to step in and play right away for former KU coach Terry Allen.

Young Master Gabbert ended up at UCF.

UCF fills huge need with QB pledges Tyler Gabbert, Jonathan Wallace

The UCF quarterback situation -- in dire straits following the departure of starting QB Jeff Godfrey -- just got better during past week.

Two players will fill an immediate need in quarterbacks for the Knights in Tyler Gabbert (6-0, 200) of Ballwin (Mo.) Parkway West and a transfer from the University of Missouri, and Phenix City (Ala.) Central prospect Jonathan Wallace (6-2, 200).

Gabbert is the brother of Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blaine Gabbert. The younger Gabbert followed his older brother to Missouri, but then decided to transfer after a redshirt freshman season in 2010.

He visited UCF in August but picked Louisville as his next destination. Things did not work out for him with the Cardinals, however, and he wound up not playing in 2011. He will have three years of eligibility remaining and is currently working on his associate's degree at a community college St. Louis.

Gabbert can enroll as a transfer for the UCF summer A session.

Is there some sort of record for flip flopping schools in college football? And is Gabbert Jr approaching that record???

Nebraska commit. Signed and played at Missouri. Transfers to Louisville. Transfers to UCF.

And still has 3! years of eligibility left. He's on pace to attend 7 schools!

(Is it?)

What happened to UCF's starting QB Godfrey?

He was one of the guys we zeroed in after - guess who! - Tyler Gabbert spurned us. There were three guys: Godfrey, NW's Kain Colter, and Brion Carnes.
