Yeah buddy!BIGREDIOWAN said:Don't really care......................he's going to have to get past Glenn first. :box
When I was in high school, we tried to use a spy against certain teams. The problem with using a spy is the fact that you just lost your best defensive player. Football is a team sport, and by having a spy you try to make it one on one. We never won a single game we used a spy because the best defender was basically out there doing nothing but trailing around one player while the opposing offense simply went to their #2 or #3 offensive weapon crushing us.Come on we all know Bo said back in 03 that he had never heard of a defense using a spy. I will have to search for the quote though.Husker_x said:borNred said:well that's one threat...what about their WR's and RB's?
Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the spy.

For what it's worth this is not good news for the Blackshirts. This kid is the type of kid that we have had trouble with since 02.
Pelini has faced taylor before, we'll see what he does.Didn't Taylor start last year? Wasn't he the QB that got lit up by LSU? Glennon didn't get the nod until like the 3rd or 4th game, right?
:woo Cool man! I am sure you will have a good time.Glennon started the first two games last year (ECU and LSU). Taylor was planned for a redshirt year as a true frosh who just turned 18 a couple weeks earlier. He was pressed into duty at LSU in the 2nd qtr. He showed a spark or two during the rest of the game and proceeded to start (and get almost all of the snaps) for the next 5 games til he got hurt. He returned after missing a couple of games and shared snaps with Glennon the rest of the year. Glennon started all of these games and got about 3/4 of the snaps while playing quite well. Both QBs faltered in the Orange Bowl.
While Glennon is probably better in the passing game, Taylor is good with his throws and very accurate on deep balls. Glennon's advantage in the passing game is due to his better understanding of the offense and ability to read defenses. Not surprising since he's a R-Senior. Taylor has much better natural talent throwing the ball. Running ability is not even a comparison between the two. Taylor is a playmaker! We'll see how he has developed since last year.
BTW, my tickets for this game arrived today. I'll be making the trip to Lincoln (from Virginia) with my wife and another couple. We're arriving Thursday and staying til Monday. Will be staying at the Husker Marriott. Can't wait to soak up all the Nebraska tradition. Of course, I'm hoping for a little vengeance for the beating my Hokies took from Big Red in the 1996 season Orange Bowl. I'm sure it will be a great trip no matter the outcome.
Good pointIf he was really going to be that much better and tougher to stop than Glennon they would have just started him in the first place. Look at last year with us. If the coaches say they have a toss-up at QB, they probably do.
So either way we face the same degree of difficulty at QB, probably.
