Umm...where's Purify?

I'm sure I missed the 50 threads on this somehow, but I haven't seen anyone mention that Purify is not on the roster released today. Is he still in California? Is he here? Is he practicing? Is he part of the team? Anyone know what is going on? This question was also brought up on the radio, and it was a mystery to them also. :dunno

Not on the roster? That is not a good sign. Granted that there was a serious tragedy , but he shouldnt give up his future and not come back. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family regardless if he returns or not.

I think we are confusing the terms roster and depth chart.

Since Purify is suspended and as such will not be playing this Saturday, of course he won't be on the depth chart. :)

Well, he is still a part of the team...also, he is still a part of the roster per Huskers.com, so I'm pretty sure they misunderstood the situation because of the suspension...didn't mean to panic anyone...but with a serious family loss coupled with past legal issues...you just never know. :(

Depth chart is who is expected to play in any capacity on Saturday. Since there is no way Purify would play, that's why he isn't listed. He's still on the roster...

Also, if they release a 'game roster' it would be of players available for play during that game. A limited number of players will be listed on the depth chart....all AVAILABLE players should be listed on the roster. (EX: Zack Lee & Beau Davis aren't on the depth chart, but will be on the roster because they are available for play if needed. Purify will not be on either for Nevada.)

That's true, you never know, but I would think coming back to the support of your team would be a positive way to help him deal with the issues in his personal life. He'll be back.

Football is fun, unlike most full-time day jobs. Reminds me of a co-worker who went to lunch and never came back. Gotta try that at least once in my lifetime!
