Maybe it was a delivery that he wouldnt be able to keep NO

maybe a gift for someone else? NO

Was the gift an inanimate object?

Did the gift signify something to the nobleman; that is, did the gift itself carry some type of message that the nobleman would become insulted, scared, or "displeased"?

You said "expensive", did the gift contain precious stones or metals? rare? bought or obtained at great expense?

did the gift have some sort of utilitarian purpose?

Could you place the gift in a shoebox?

Could you wear the gift?

Did the king know that the nobleman would be "displeased" with the gift?

Okay, so it wasn't an inanimate object. Was it an animal? person? insect? land

Assuming that it was a person, was the person female? related to the king? or nobleman? an infant? a child? an adult?

Assuming that it was a "rare" animal, was it dangerous? have fur? scales? wings? have legs? could swim? an endangered species?

a mythical creature?

Assuming that it was an insect, was it dangerous? could fly? have legs?

Was this "gift" a bounty or spoils from a battle or war - obtained with lost of life?

Did the nobleman do something that would have insulted the king?

Did the nobleman plot against the king? steal from the king?

Was the nobleman a relation of the king?

Did the nobleman have any relations/affairs with the king's wife? daughter?

Okay, so if it didn't have fur or scales or wings, it must have hair...right?

Was the animal herbivorous? carnivorous? or omnivorous?

Was the animal alive?

The nobleman insulted the king...was this insult attributed to a gift that the nobleman gave the King?
