Urban Meyer's daughter commits to Ga. Tech
Buchholz (Gainesville, Fla.) senior Nicki Meyer, the daughter of Florida football coach Urban Meyer, said she will play volleyball at Georgia Tech.
She considered Tennessee but gave careful thought to attending a school in the same conference (SEC) as the team her dad coaches.
"Tennessee is an awesome school, but my parents were afraid for me to play somewhere in the SEC. They were afraid of people being harassing and mean," Nicki Meyer told Rivals.com.
She has a built-in rivalry by selecting Georgia Tech. "I already hate Georgia, so it all works out," she said.
Urban Meyer took an unofficial visit to Georgia Tech with his daughter. "He knows everything the coach is thinking and what kinds of questions to ask, so he grilled (Georgia Tech coach) Bond (Shymansky)," Nicki Meyer said.
But Urban Meyer also told his daughter to be "respectful of the (recruiting) process."
