Kansas essentially ranked #26 with 138 points, followed by Michigan St, Texas Tech, Cinci and Pittsburgh.

I have a sneaking suspicion people are underestimating TTech. I have no worries about their offense scoring points, and they'll have a decent defense. If nothing else, they'll simply outscore most people. Tech is a team being ranked more on what they lost rather than who they are.

surprised that KU is not in the top 25, since you know they have the best offense in the Big 12 north.... <_< I still think no polls should be released until after the start of conference play. They hold no relevance until then in my opinion.

We can all just hope and pray that Nevada beats the Irish and puts the kibosh on this nonsense.

How can ND be in the top 25, but KU, WV, and Cinci are not? This just proves that ND could go winless and still be in the top 25 the following year b/c they "suppose" to have an easy schedule. Did they not have an easy schedule last year? Look how that turned out! If ND beats Nevada I am sure their fans and the drooling media will move them up to the top 10...it just makes me sick!

It is nice to have the Huskers in the top 25 again. If, and it is a big if, how far does NU jump if they knock off Va-Tech? Maybe I am thinking too far ahead....

Where we jump IF we win at Blacksburg depends on what the people ahead of us have done. I would expect to be near the top ten if we win that game, and if VA Tech already beat Alabama. If they lose to 'Bama and we win it won't count for much.

I would say IF we beat Va. Tech, our jump in the rankings would really hinge on whether or not they beat Bama.

Iowa...Ha ha! Though I must admit those orange jumpsuits their players wear when picking up trash on the side of the road are pretty snazzy....

Actually, it wouldn't surprise me at all if, given the wussiness of our games leading up to VaTech, that even if we're 2-0, we might drop out of the top 25.

....? Compared to the wussiness of, say, Florida's games? Or Texas'? Or Penn State's?

Have you looked at the non-conference schedules of the preseason top 25 teams? Ours isn't anything to write home about, but it's on par with about 20 other teams.

we will drop out only if we have games that are the score of 47-24 again like with WMU, that still makes me mad thinking we gave up that many points to Western Michigan. wow.
