If he does it shows 1 of 2 things. Our QB recruiting was really that bad or 2 our QB coaching was able to mold him into a competent QB.

If TA is named starter, it will be because Riley has actually provided some coaching. Under Beck we have never seen improvement in a QB. I expect that to change.

I do not think the outgoing coaches adequately prepared Tommy to succeed, but we shall see. Martinez looked oft inept until he went to a private coach and actually learned a few fundamentals, good enough for Big 10 Offensive Co-Player of the Year.

He needs coaching. Fixing stupid mistakes and bad fundamentals are on the coaches. Riley will fix that or find somebody else.
