I am not going to lie or apologize, but this was the best game I saw by the Huskers this year (4 quarters). Yeah it sucked to lose and come so close, for sure. But if you watched it objectively, it was a fun game to see.
Huskers led 7-0 on pick six
USC tied it and went up 14-7.
EJ taking it to the house on a screen pass - 14-14
Half-Time
Huskers go up 17-14 on USC
USC responds and goes up 21-17
Huskers kick a FG to make it 21-20
Huskers block a short FG attempt to keep it 21-20
USC gets a long winning drive to go up 28-20
Huskers have one last play with :05 from the 19 and the DPI is ignored, ball-game.
Throw in the crazy bounces and unsportsmanlike penalties, all both teams looking for a win with their backs against the wall. Sure, an OT game would have been awesome ending and a Husker win would have been the best case possible. But, it was an enjoyable game in Southern California, and the TV angle is so amazing that I wish most games were that close up.
