Used car purchasing advice

No I'm not. I'm dead set on not buying an American car. Toyota is an option too. My fiance has a 1998 toyota corolla with over 250k miles still running. Thanks.

The thrilling climax is I have a friend who is going to fix my car for a lot less than the mechanic is charging. I decided I don't want a $5,000 loan right now.
