2-2 it is. If he's playing NT: Go get Fair and have a top 3 of Daniels, Fair, and this cat in 2019.Not sure he brings much other than depth to the table, but that's exactly what we need for 2019.
We needed someone to spell Daniels in 2019 and let the HS kid(s) we will sign this year RS.
If he's a 1 for 1 guy it probably means:
1. We have extra schollies so why not. Depth is good.
2. Newell may actually be 1 foot out the door. Although he was just in the jersey photo shoot this week.
Bruntz from 247 seems to think he’ll play center or guard.
So he’s played all his college career at DT and Bruntz thinks he’s going to switch to center or guard and contribute?
The 6-foot-3, 295-pound Vainuku has taken an unconventional route to Nebraska. He graduated from powerhouse program East High School in Salt Lake City as part of the 2012 class, before serving an LDS mission during the 2012 and 2013 seasons. Vainuku grayshirted during the 2014 season, and joined Utah’s program during the 2015 season. He redshirted that season.
Vainuku played in two games as a reserve offensive guard at Utah in the 2016 season, and retired because of injuries in spring of 2017. At the time of his retirement, Vainuku was set to graduate from Utah this spring.
I don't think he really settled into a position. The Utes website says he played two games on offense in 2016 and those are the only games he played. So he’s played all his college career at DT and Bruntz thinks he’s going to switch to center or guard and contribute?
He probably knows just as much about playing center in Frost's offense as anyone on the roster. Do we have anyone left that has played center in a game for the Huskers? So he’s played all his college career at DT and Bruntz thinks he’s going to switch to center or guard and contribute?
