Venables Rumor?

ALL of my OU friends want to see Mike Stoops come back because that is the last time OU's Defense was any good. When Bo was there (as Co-coord), Venables ran the show and Bo's influence wasn't as strong as it was in Lincoln. Hiring Venables would be a HUGE mistake.

Fine. Boot Cally and hire Venables as HC. Maybe he'd take Cally as OC.

 
he coached at KSU in the 90s! Grab him while we have the chance. Seems like almost everyone of those guys ended up pretty succesful

 
This guy seems very very iffy. We brought in a proven mediocre coach in Cosgrove, I don't think it's wise to take a chance with someone who could be good or could be horrible.

We need a proven Defensive Coordinator, who has been responsible for defenses ranked in the top-25. Cos has had one top-25 defense and that was his first year as DC at Wisc, next year it dropped WAY off.

If we can get a coach who has had defenses consistently ranked in the top-25, that would be the very least we should expect.
