Assuming you work at a job with a couple hundred employees, the players probably care about administration to the same extent you care about the top execs at your job. Sure, you may not report to them every day or think about them every day, but they certainly have a direct impact on your life every day whether you realize it or not. Furthermore, they can make you care real quick, aka if they fire your boss and are hiring a new one.

From that extent, it DOES matter what kind of an impression a coach leaves on his players about administration. Bo Pelini was fired, sat his players down, and instead of pushing them to be the best individual players they could be and leave it at that, he bad-mouthed and said offensive things about the people his players are stuck with in the future.

It's unacceptable and unprofessional. It's similar, though not identical, to one parent poisoning their child's mind in a divorce, and I think we'd all agree that's a terrible decision for a parent to make as well.

OK, you asked for it. Pretty much all the Catholics in Lincoln. Bo bought Pius X a brand new turf football field out of his own pocket. Pretty much all the parents and players on his kids' youth sports teams. Pretty much everyone who he interacted with on a personal basis.

The only ones he didn't like were the fairweathered fans who booed at games and left early (or the ones who would've if they had been there.) And they are pretty easy to spot, because they say very similar things to what you've been posting.
