To lose the best o-lineman on the team (if not the B12) at the beginning of the year, and take a bunch of average lineman used to run blocking for the option, and have them playing as well as they are, well that is something. Can't wait to see what he does with some blue chippers in there after gaining a few years experience in this offense

Oline has done pretty well. Still a ways to go though

 
I agree, I wish we could get some quicker and faster lineman in here though so that we could pull a little bit more often.

 
We actually have some decent lineman especially at run blocking, but for some reason he decides to pass all the time some games. If he'd give the ball to ross and kriewald like he should we would have a much better record. Along with having dailey do some play action and roll out passes.

What is decent? Watch the end of a play Erickson and/or Anderson are always standing by themselves away from the action. Seppo doesn't ever remember the snapcount. How good could the guys be a DL switched positions and is starting. We haven't had a good line for years. Richie was overrated and he was supposed to be our best.

I agree. The line this year is about as good as could be expected.

This is interesting to me Benard. In another thread about the Oklahoma game you said specifically that we should have passed the ball. Could we make up our mind please? :blink:

We've always had a good line ever since I can remember. We might not of had a great line for a few years. Key injuries to guys that were going to be good haven't helped. If you have watched every game, our line usually dominates the other team at the line on run plays. Just blow them off the ball but our lovely coach just runs it up the middle and after awhile they catch on to that. If he'd mix it up with runs to kriewald, pitches to ross, counters, options, we do great. Then mix in some passes.

No matter what you a line that has Erickson and Anderson starting on it isn't any good.

 
Right on Wags! See this is the kind of thing that can really help fire up a program. One man simply says no and shows his commitment to our team, and to our tradition of excellence. If you didn't know any better, you'd think he was born, raised, and played in Nebraska. I know he has a couple of small roots that lead to Nebraska, but that probably has nothing to do with it. Man, that is so huge! That's gotta pump up the O- Line and hopefully the entire offense, if not the entire team. Damn, it pumped me up... LET ME IN COACH, I'M READY!

 
Actually kind of suprised he turned it down but glad he did. I'm sure he's not ready to move around after just getting his family settled again.
