Want to see Abdullah returning punts again

The lack of punt returns was brought up in this Tad Stryker column http://forum.huskermax.com/vbbs/content.php?324-Husker-coaches-make-the-right-moves-to-shut-down-Penn-State. I know that since Ameer Abdullah has taken up the #1 RB position with Burkhead out it's necessitated coaches "resting" him by not having him return punts, but we've gone from having regular electrifying returns to nada. Hopefully our next two games against Minnesota and Iowa should be old-fashioned butt-kickings, but something to keep in mind in the Big 10 title game against Wisconsin. Abdullah is a huge weapon in PR, the problem is he will also fumble about 1 out of every 10 that he fields.

He was back to return vs. Penn St after the Marlowe muff.

I'd actually like to see this guy fielding punts again

Anybody know if he still has eligibility?

I'd prefer if they just let the thing bounce for now on. Dont even try to catch it. To hell with returns. Just take the damn ball.

With Heard and Cross playing I think they could let Abdullah work back there. If not let's just try to block the kick even if we rough they still won't have the good field position we give them after a muffed one!

There kind of has been a little change in strategy in the punt return game since northwestern. Let's hope some minds have changed. Think about punt return attempts since that game, include the reference of the Illinois gatorade player of the year above and you can figure out what it's going on.

This is a random prediction, but I think/hope Jordan Westerkamp will return punts next year....

Sure backfired yesterday.

Heck, trot Rex out there on one leg specifically to have him fair catch. He's about the only one left I trust...

Would rather see Jamal.
My choice as well. Getting him touches is always going to be beneficial. Plus his skill set would seem to scream open field........

Then when Abdullah fumbles we'll want Jamal Turner back there, then when he fumbles we'll want Kenny Bell back there, then when he fumbles we'll want Enunwa back there, then when he fumbles we'll want Heard back there, then when he fumbles we'll want Cross back there, then when he fumbles we'll want Marrow back there, then when he fumbles we'll want Jano back there, then we he fumbles we'll want Stafford back there, etc, etc, etc.
