Washington RB Chris Polk has Knee Surgery

Saunders

Heisman Trophy Winner
Washington running back Chris Polk may not be out for long, but here's a guess that Huskies fans are just a bit nervous after coach Steve Sarkisian announced that the All-Pac-10 running back had his knee scoped to repair a meniscus injury on Thursday morning.
Sarkisian said Polk would be out a couple of weeks and could miss the season opener against Eastern Washington on Sept. 3.

And folks here are half in the doldrums over Fonzie's leg. Could be worse.
I think it's because Pelini just leaves it up to speculation. Sark said what the injury was specifically and gave a timeframe. Speculation over.

If this happened under Pelini's watch it would be:

"Yeah, we held him out, he's dinged up.... thats football. He's coming along well, he should be back soon but you never know..."

This is definitely nothing to get worked up about, our guys just better be ready to wrap him up and soundly tackle him. As I said in a previous post, it was extremely frustrating to see him turn 1-2 yard gains into 5 yard to 1st down gains because no one wanted to tackle him.

It's weird. Hard to know who is out longer, Polk or Fonzie. Sounds like both are probably back by the Washington game. Knee surgery made me think ACL tear. This isn't quite that.

:yeah - and Pelini is sitting back enjoying that massive competitive advantage he just gained by reading this little nugget :sarcasm :

I had my right knee scoped a week ago Monday, back to work on Tuesday, climbing rocks, climbing towers and jumping off of the damned things. 65 years old and was back to normal in three days. Still black and blue, but released with out rehab yesterday, now the fun one comes, 14 October they replace ther right knee. Then I will be part bionic. lol

My doctor feels I will be up and walk out of the hospital in three days max. I heal fast for some reason.

All a matter of mind over pain as far as I am concerned. Two heart attacks, pancreatitis twice, destroyed rotater cuff and two knee surgeries in the last 4 years, and I still ride my bicycle 100 miles a week.

He will be fine.

Hopefully he comes into Lincoln 100%... He sure as hell won't be leaving that way.

Could be worse, we could have Snyder as our coach. He doesn't share ANY info on injuries,

With our staff that could mean anywhere in between he's fine and healthy and he has actually been pronounced dead.

It almost seems like Coach Pelini sees himself making an excuse when we have injuries. He is a lot Saben it appears, I guess that is not a bad thing, but his personality is very similar it seems. For them to know and us to guess.

I wish the kid a speedy and complete recovery, and hope he's up to full speed by Sept 17th, so I can watch Crick, David, and the rest of the boys knock him on his a$$...
