WBB: 2021-22 Season Notes

Leading despite playing 8 on 5 and down the 2 best players to boot… let’s go ladies!!! GBR
Really quite remarkable how the refs protect the"golden one" Clark from fouls even though she extends and pushes off almost every play.

It's been a long time since I've seen that kind of team foul disparity without someone being embarrassed.

And both men's & women's needs to have no warnings. Just straight up T's.
Charging fouls are so frustrating as a basketball fan.  I honestly don't understand them most of the time.  There will be a play where the defender is basically standing still and gets called for the foul.  The announcers will point out..."Yep, his feet weren't set" because he very slightly moved one foot.  The, there will be an offensive foul where the defender is moving with the offensive player but maybe the offensive player lowers his shoulder slightly or puts up his arm.  So, you end up with defenders feeling like they need to "sell it".

It's honestly the most frustrating call in basketball right now.

Feet having to be set is the most often repeated fallacy of the rule. The rule book explicitly states the defender doesn't have to be set. No idea why announcers who are paid to know the game continue to repeat that when it is so obviously wrong.
