We can't beat OU

I'm not talking about the people who weren't sure Nebraska could win. I'm talking about the people who wrote them off. Who gave them NO chance! When you write your team off, show them no support, and give them no chance in a contest. That DOES make you a fairweather fan and it's disgusting. It has nothing to do with picking an upset and everything to do with bitching about a loss before the game is even played!

So I suppose this means one cannot be an optimist and a realist at the same time. Very philosophical.

Enough. You are not a better fan because you didn't write on a message board that we might lose. This diatribe you're on is stupid. There were what? Four people posting here saying we had NO CHANCE? Maybe five? Going on and on about a few people is worthless. You were right, they were wrong. Go get yourself a nice cookie as a reward and move on.

Didn't say my name is plato.

The term realist is over used and not relevant in this case. The reality is that Nebraska won the football game.

The point of this is not that I was right and they were wrong. It's stop harping and bitching about losses before the game is even played.

I ask you one question.

Did Iowa State beat us? Or did we beat ourselves?

Same can be said about last night.

We played a far better defensive game than anyone imagined we could. I have been a bandwagon fan now for over 50 some years, and this was one of the best defensive performances I have ever seen.

Oklahoma playing their Freshman QB most likely did the deed, but unlike us they had no choice. The last play summed up their game. He was in over his head and did not have an answer.

We played a great defensive game, but it was no more of win than Iowa State was over us. Scoreboard, no qustion and I will take it, but it was a gift.

I could have easily been a rout, it wasn't and I am happy about it.

Total admiration for the defense, every single one of them, and to Bo and Carl for their great game plan. But beating that level of a team without any offense does not happen often. Count our blessings.

I sure am tired of getting my dress caught in the spokes of this damed wagon. NOT
Did Oklahoma ever get the ball inside the NU 20? I don't think they did. Big difference between this game and the ISU game.

And I thought the consensus among OU fans was that Landry Jones had actually looked pretty good until Saturday. I could be wrong, but that was the impression I got. Jones has just as much D1 collegiate experience as Zac Lee, by the way.

Both games were gifts.

And that is one of the reasons I thought we would lose, Landry had played very well. They only lost to Texas by 3. He did some great things, but Saturday night was not one of his best outings I am sure. We had something to do with that, but that game was not a normal game for us either.

I never said they had no chance, every game is played because there is a chance.

Just running off at the mouth we will win because we have a red N on the side of our helmet is stupid to me. It just does not work that way. 78% of the nation thought we would lose.

I put out a bet to all these that are running their mouths now, not one took the bet. That says something if you ask me. They can talk now but would not take the chance of losing that right in faith of the Huskers.

I am tired of this I am a better fan than you or him or me.

I have more time in the toilet than most of you have being Nebraska fans, so your coments about being a better fan do not mean much to me. I have supported this team for well over 50 years, numerous times thinking we were going to lose, and normally I am right. NO one is happier that I was wrong than me.
