We need serious Help

Hey!!

I can understand most of everyone's points..And it's probably wrong to come down so hard on these "Amateurs"..But when did it become a rule that only "Coaches" could comment on the Coaches..Or that retired overweight Linebackers couldn't express their opinion's about Safeties?

Next thing you know, we won't be able to b!^@h about the Government unless we used to be President.

What is this..A Home Owners Association? :hellloooo
Walk a mile in their shoes and then your opinion (read b!^@h) might have some validity. :bonez

Speaking of walking in used shoes.(Yuk)..I wore out a few pairs of McCathorn Claytons Turf Shoes back in the late 80's..And I doubt I'm any more Valid than anyone else here.

It's probably more important to have this BBS site for us armchair QB's to b!^@h/moan on, so when we're out in civilization, we don't bore our friends/relatives with useless details or beat the kids.

Let's just hope the real Coaches and Players don't read..Or at least take all these rants with a grain of Corn.

Same goes for the potential recruits.

Ok..I went to the game..I had to because I've heard so much about Kyle Field and I've been to every other stadium in Texas so..in the 2nd half tackling was absolutely horrendous..the run by their halfback (#3, can't think of his name at the time) we had him stopped at about a 2 yard gain and just let him go..and the halfback pass by lane was a horrible job by Grixby..never once did he look for the ball and it was in the air for a LONG time..that play happened right in front of me..and Shanle looked incredibly slow on that play too..after the int I thought this game was over and thought about leaving but I can't leave a Husker game till it's over and I'm damn glad I didn't..after the blocked fg I just knew that we were gonna score and our players finally showed some heart for the first time in the 2nd half..I didn't see any problem with the coaching in the 2nd half on the defensive side of the ball..and just to let ya know A&M has an incredible student section and tradition..they get pretty loud down there

I didn't see any big problems in the game besides a few questionable calls on both sides of the ball for us. And guess what...if people would watch any OTHER football games, you'd see the exact same thing. Nobody calls a perfect game. Once again our biggest problem was execution in the second half.

People act like the Huskers should be playing perfect. Seriously, get a clue and join the rational people in the real world. We just won the Big XII North and all some people can do is whine. :hmmm

No doubt when we're playing nearly every year for the conference championship and in the race for the national title, those same people will still be crying about something. My suggestion is to invest in a pacifier and go cheer for Colorado. No doubt you'll find yourselves in familiar territory.

Probably impossible to find a team with all their fans on Prozac..(Although you never know about Colorado). :laughpound

It's Human nature for some folks to find something to complain about..What was it Gene Wilder said in "Blazing Saddles" about our people? "This place was settled by the Salt of the Earth..plains people..You know..Morons" or something like that.

Just talking to my Mom in Lincoln..I ask how she's doing...Then I get an earful about different Medical conditions and Pains..Ask someone back home "How's the Weather? and instead of "Great!" on a nice day, you'll probably get a " Not Too Bad".

What are you, new here on Earth?

Come on...Complain..Don't keep this stuff bottled up...If your face hurts, tell someone..I'm sure it probably hurts them.

:nutz

and it was the presidents fault that the germans bombed pearl harbor...........all of the nay sayers out there are now on double secret probation

Nah, there is room for complaining, but I think it needs to be done with perspective. And that seems to be something a LOT of Husker fans lack lately.

Ahh found it...

These afternoon naps during Husker games make it WAY hard to go to sleep.

You've got to remember that these are just simple farmers. These are people of the land. The common clay of the new West. You know... morons.

on most (if not all) the successful A&M drives, the defense stopped 'em on the first two downs, then completely blew 3rd and long. the frustrating thing was, the players were there to make the play! Shanle, for example, taps the football instead of smacking the ball carrier and the RB goes on for a first down and plenty more-- WTH!? On the option somebody (shanle again? looked like he was blocked) didn't cover the QB.

we knew this secondary was going to a problem area even BEFORE we lost Bowman, and at times they've lived down to those low expectations.

As for offense, before this season it seemed this offense would go as well as the Oline goes, and that still seems to be the case. unfortunately our Oline hasn't been good since before 2002.

BTW, coincidentally, Stoops' Sooners only beat A&M by a point. I can only imagine folks on the Sooner boards were calling for his head after that one too.

Yeah..It seems to run in cycles..With all teams' boards I've visited.

With ours..If we start winning MNC's again..I'll be complainin' about not having enough Walkons or too many season ticket holders sitting on their hands..Or the noisy obnoxious fans embarrasing "True Fans" of the Corn with their poor show of "sportsmanship" while I'm trying to diagram the next play in my head.

It never runs out.

IMO there needs to be some middle ground here. Yes, Nebraska won and I am extremely happy that they won, but that does not mean that the 2nd half, other than the final drive, did not happen. I keep hearing all of this "stop complaining" or "you have never coached" garbage, and it is a direct derivative of a "support the troop" mentality. I can support BC and COZ and still be very dissapointed with some of their decisions. I can LOVE this team and be upset with the way they played in the second half. Whether or not I have coached or played D1 ball is absolutely irrelavant. If this is the criteria of the board, all should post nothing but worthless rhetoric or bantor. Most of the time, I see people's not-so-shiny comments as allegory for how much they want this team to do well (I know some do get rediculous). The way I see it, people's bitching has just as much valitidity as your bitching about their bitching. dedhoarse

:yeah

Is there a "YES MAN" partition on this board?

Where only "attaboys" and positive things can be posted, and spitting and eating with your mouth open aren't allowed?

Sounds a little DULL, but maybe there's a demographic for it.

No "Yes Man", just "Reasonable Man".

It's just so funny how everything is blamed on the coaches. How many years of coaching under your belt??
Eric, to answer your question, yes you always blame the coaches. Especially if you don't really like them to begin with. It's in most every Husker fan's nature to blame the coaching when a play or game doesn't go right. Even though most of em wouldn't know a good game plan if it bit them in the a$$. Why? Because the only way they know how to judge if it was a good game plan is if most every play went for at least 10 yards and the other team never gained more than, say, 150 yards.

If that happened, that would be great. However talk of a good game plan and magical adjustments by most fans is, per usual, a drastic oversimplification of the entire game.

Oh and as far as "explaining the college game" to a coach; You wanna go ahead and do that then? What would that explanation entail exactly? What could you tell a guy who has coached in college previously and a guy who coached in the Super Bowl that he doesn't already know, Mr. Armchair husker fan? What? I really wanna know.
