I don't think we will win it next year. Stoops had a six win season his first year and Callahan has an opportunity to have a six win season as well. Looks about the same at this point to me.

We had 10 wins last year with alot of talent back. He had 3 or 4 wins before he joined and showed dramatic improvement as the year went along. We are far from showing dramatic improvement. We are getting worse. Are you blinded by your love for bill callahan or something? I use to respect your opinion but it is falling off a cliff.

Well, Nebraska lost its best player last season in Demorrio Williams. That guy was a legitimate playmaker. T.J. Hollowell was a good linebacker. Ryan Bingham was a good Defensive Tackle. Trevor Johnson was a good defensive end. Kyle Larsen always gave the defense great position to work with. That's 4 big time players lost on defense and a punter who was probably the best to come through Lincoln, don't even try to say that the cupboard isn't kinda empty.

We lose our 2 linebackers and thats it imo. AT defensive tackle we had 2 guys that played alot and our suppose to be good, bingham was good but nothing outstanding outstanding. The same goes with johnson. He was ok but nothing great. Koch is doing a good job as back up to larsen so no bigggie there. If callahan would play cooper and wali at linebacker then we would have some good linebackers but instead he plays slow guys.

Why do you think Wali can play LB? Cooper is a joke. I like I said before say what you want about Ricketts but Lornell couldn't beat him out and that's a fact. Bingham was better then both of the guys we have this year. He had 56 tackles and he missed two games. Where are those Pippens plays coming from this year? I don't care who they put out there nobody, I mean nobody on this team could match what Demorrio brought to each game.

However, I don't ever remember being embarrassed nearly as much in one season as we have this year.  

How many times did the goalposts come down in 2002? Losing record against D-1 teams. Had to play 14 count them 14 times to get 7 wins. That season was probably a little more embarrassing. IMO

2002 was a hard year, but I don't consider it nearly as embarassing as this year. Yes, we got embarassed by Penn State and K-State. Both very solid teams that year. We collapsed in the second half against maybe the best Iowa State team in 20 years. But the other 4 losses were not embarassments. They were to good/great teams and they were all close.

We got our backsides totally handed to us by Texas Tech this year. We lost at home to an non-major conference team. You know the last time that happened? 1968!!! And S. Miss wasn't even ranked. Then we get dominated by the worst Kansas State team in recent memory and give up 30+ to the worst offense in the league. That's embarassing. In 2002 the team kept fighting and was right there to win 4 more games. In the process we still rolled over the bottom-feeders. Now there are no givens on the schedule. That's embarassing.

Ole Miss a great team? Colorado a great team? I think you are giving a 7-7 Iowa State team to much credit and this year not enough. Oklahoma State was a great team? What games were they still fighting in besides Texas? Mike Stuntz played against ISU. Richie was fighting against PSU. Did you listen or see any of the game from Saturday? It didn't sound like they ever stopped fighting for that one. The only reason you guys except that season now is because they were still running the option. I'm sure you jokers were calling for the Great Frank Solichs job. Fickle Fickle people.

If you think this year's ISU team is in the same league as 2002, I can't help you. Any team with Rashaun Woods is good. They lost to OSU by 3, Ole Miss by 4. And yes, those were good teams.

And don't call me fickle. I never once called for Solich's job. The more likely scenario is people like you were calling for his job in 98 and 02 while saying how great he was in 99 through most of 01.

Ole Miss was 6-6 going into the bowl game. Man they sure were agood team. As far as the 2002 ISU team being the best in 20 years I think they were 8-5 the year before. They lost to UConn, a D1AA school in 2002. In 2001 they beat Okie St with Woods so they must be good. :wacko: This years team has 4 loses 3 to teams in the top 25. The 49ers are a good team with Woods aren't they.

That 49ers comment is just assenine so I'm not going to answer that. Why do you think Solich cleaned house? Because Pedersen let him know that 7-7 isn't good enough. Fine, I agree. But he got it turned around and he got fired anyway. To say Pedersen followed Solich's suit is ridiculous. If you think Pedersen cares about anything but how he looks you're ridiculous too. He sees himself as the cowboy riding into town to save the day. He wanted to shake things up from the get go so he could be the hero when things are finally turned around. But he's only succeeding in F-ing things up far more than they ever have been. Yes, my beef is more with Pedersen than Callahan. I can't fault old Billy for taking a great job like Nebraska Head coach. But all that doesn't change the fact that Callahan is not a good coach.

It also had to do with us getting blown out by Missouri, Texas, and Kansas State. We were competetive with Missouri for three quarters but got our a$$ handed to us in the other 9 quarters.

We were up by 10 after 3 in Missouri. That's more than competitive. We were only down by 10 at half to KSU. That's not getting slaughtered. I'll agree that we got trounced in the other 7 quarters.

Well, Benard, Bingham has been replaced by Titus Adams. He has disappeared everywhere this season except the buffet line. Anybody seen this guy lately, he looks 6 months pregnant. I don't know if he thought that since he was a defensive tackle strictly this season that he needed to put on 40 pounds. And as far as Wali and Cooper being played? Cooper has gotten burnt pretty bad while he has been in this season. Wali is A DEFENSIVE END, too slow to be a linebacker. Do you equate black as fast? Because you think Ricketts was slower than McPherson, which, sadly I must admit, doesn't appear to be true. And you think for some reason that a second string defensive end is faster than the 2 starting outside linebackers. I am just curious, because thats how it seems.
