We're a bunch of rednecks according to USC Coaches...

I can't even begin to tell you how awesome I think it is that we disturbed their practice so much as to make one of their coaches actually lose his temper.

Memorial Stadium is quite a bit louder than a few dozen high school kids.
I agree, this is a good sign. Normally it's not a good idea to provoke an opponent unless you can really get into his head and take his mind off of execution of the game plan. If they are playing on too much emotion, then they will make mistakes and we must make them pay for it.

I smell blood!

If we pull off the win they can call us whatever the hell they want
Sure..It's OK for a USC coach to call us Rednecks, But if Larry the Cable Guy pokes fun of Rednecks....

I'm just sayin'

Not that I wouldn't have done the same thing..But what exactly were those "Red Necks" trying to accomplish?

If it were me..I'd probably enjoy pretending I was on a secret mission to gleam team secrets or discover their opening play script in order to get in good with our coaching staff..But that wouldn't be very Husker like ("Greatest Fans in the universe") of me. <_<

Oh well...Carry on..

And get in their heads :woo

It's ironic (more hypocritcal actually) when you consider a USC coach calling Husker fans "rednecks" gets very little attention but when Callahan thru out the "f'ing hillbillies" statement a couple of years ago, the media went nuts.

maybe Jeff Foxworthy can use this in his next routine....."If you gather around to watch a USC football practice and cause them to move to another location, You might be a redneck."

...according to the Omaha World Herald:

For a few minutes Friday, it was a circus in Omaha. As the crowd refused to move from outside the fence around the football stadium, one USC coach grew upset and called a group of NU fans "rednecks," according to observers.

So, I know our beloved 'Huskers have enough bulletin board material...but damn, those are fighting words. Don't piss of the friendliest fans in the nation, as our alter ego is a b!^@h. :bonez

(Already said that to my Son (Robbie) this morning)

Okay what do you expect? USC is in the middle of the ghetto. People close to the university are killed in drive-bys and bad drug deals all the time. USC has a student right now who keeps trying to flush her newborns down toilets. They really see no problem with team members’ families getting “upgraded” living conditions at the expense of boosters or future agents. They have a very twisted idea of reality. They are the media darling because their coach is good at smooching. They have a pretty tight alumni base that regularly procures jobs for USC grads that are way outside that grads level of ability. Then smart, competent (read “non-USC grads”) people have to clean up the mess.

Those of you in Lincoln have no idea how bad it sucks being around USC alumni. When someone announces they went to USC, I usually have to begin to talk really slowly and make sure to only use monosyllabic words, or they won’t ever understand what I am saying.

Those are the types of idiots that commonly refer to people from Lincoln as “rednecks.” The dumb-asses don’t even have their definitions right. Nebraskans are not rednecks. Nor are they hillbillies. The closest an SC fan might get is to say “farmer” but then again that only describes a very small minority of Nebraskans (some being my grandparents and other family members, I’m proud to say). But, like I said, what do you expect from USC fans and coaches. You always have to consider the source.
