Every great coach in history has had to start somewhere. I'm not anointing JP as a great coach or a great hire but I damn sure ain't gonna take your word for it!

Jesus. You really don't get it.

We AREN'T settling. That's why we fired our 9 win coach. And the Super Bowl coach before him. And the coach who went 7-7 before him.

And if you want to replicate Nebraska's glory days, Marko Polo, you'd realize that neither Tom Osborne or Bob Devaney were splash hires. They were calculated risks.

If swinging for the fences is throwing huge sums of money at big names who have no intention of coming to Lincoln, I'll pass.
Well if you look over the coaching hires we made in the big money sports, for the last 15 yrs. I think we could use new batteries for that calculator.

Some people think success is a splash hire and that the rest just figures itself out.
Nope just a hell of a lot easier to swim downstream than up all the time.
Maybe see what our current staff does this season before labeling it a failure?

Nahhh, that wouldn't be any fun would it? It's much more entertaining to urinate all over everything and preach how mediocre we are now and point fingers until we start succeding at the high level we all want then say "Boy, I was wrong! All is forgiven! Go Big Red!"

Hey where the hell did I label it a failure!!! I sure would like to know you idea of success. Mine is playing for and winning a conference title and maybe even sniff the nat title. I give us a less than 10% chance of either of those things under the current coaching staffs in baseball, roundball or football. I am sorry but that is my definition of irrelevant.

I don't recall Nebraska EVER going "balls out" for a coaching hire. And that includes Bob and TO.

And his name is spelled with 2 f'ing R's. If you are going to be bothered by his hiring. At least spell his name correctly.

We all want to play for, and win, championships. Just because some of us choose not to bash our team on message boards doesn't mean that we've settled.
