Westerkamp, a junior wide receiver, needs 68 yards to match Johnny Rodgers’ 1972 school single-season record of 942 receiving yards. If Westerkamp catches just one more ball, he’ll surpass Nate Swift’s 2008 total of 63 receptions for most in a season by a Nebraska wide receiver.

Nice! Westerkamp might be our best receiver evar. I think he has the best hands of any Husker receiver I've ever seen.

Not just hands, but determination to make the grab. Some of the best carches I have seen have come from #1.

That, and he does as good a job of holding onto the ball when he takes a hit as well as any college player I've ever seen. Makes catches even when he takes brutal hits.

Gotta say, his ball control this year was incredible compared to even last year. He held onto that thing like a magnet even when 5 guys were barreling down on him during punts.

Well deserved...been great watching him.

Will be interesting to see how he does next year...whether TA is slinging him the ball or another QB.

We obviously look through things with a Nebraska lens, but Westerkamp really has broken out into the national football consciousness. ESPN loves him. He's the closest thing college football has to Odell Beckham, Jr.
