WHAT A STORY!

I know this isn't Husker related but I thought everyone would love to read about this. There isn't many stories that get my throat tight and the ole eyes swelling but this is truly an amazing story! Especially since I have a brother with Autism. Watch the video. (Some of you may have already seen this but it was sure a touching piece!)

Autistic boy gets his day to shine!

Yeah, they showed his highlights of him going in late in the 4th quarter...missed his first 3 point attempt then hit like 5 in a row! He had to be loving every moment of that as he had the whole gym of his high school going crazy....

He will remember that for the rest of his life. More so then your avg 17 year old kid! I couldn't even imagine how his parents must of felt seeing their son out there!

Simply beautiful. :worship

They better not make a movie of this, cuz I couldn't handle the clip.

Probably more amazing is that he was all about the team. He didn't care about what he did, he was always trying to pump up his teammates. I remember hearing an interview with Coach Johnson saying that J-Mac didn't usually make too many baskets when he saw him shooting around.

In an era with sports revolving around the almighty $, this is maybe one of the best sports stories I've ever heard since Hickory, Indiana.

That's precisely what I read in the paper the other day. I read Walt Disney is interested. It is a great story for the kid, something to remember for the rest of his life. That gym was going absolutely bananas for him!

the amazing thing for me is that in today's world people are soo caught up in winning and losing that sometimes they over look things like giving a kid his dream, and how amazing it is that a whole community is behind this kid. EVEN THE OTHER TEAM WAS CHEERING HIM. it's just amazing...who said the world is such a bad place

Truly amazing & inspirational story. So good for so many reasons. "The ultimate underdog story" gets thrown around a lot - well here is the new Webster definition for it.

The entire sequence of events were just so perfect, and such a great personification of his life -- not even coming close on his 1st shot, then going completely OUT OF HIS SHOES and dropping bombz from 25 ft!! The fact that he was the high scorer - in FOUR MINUTES - that he tied a school freakin record for 3 pointers - IN FOUR MINUTES - and the fact that he hit his last ever shot at the BUZZER, from DEEP - in his FIRST LAST & ONLY varsity basketball game. Wow. How many other people, let alone "handicapped" people, can say they seized a moment like J-Mac did??? He makes Eminem's 'Lose Yourself' sound like an Ashlee Simpsuck song.

And not to be trite - but words, videos, movies can not capture the impact this moment in time will have on not only the Autism community, but Civility in general -- it was nothing short of divine. "I lauged, I cried" will never be truer statements when this classic hits the silver screen. Hell who needs the big screen, thats already a true statement for me.

He would've had the record for 3's, but one of his shots they said his foot was on the line. Non the less he was making rain out there. It'll be cool to see what his team does in the state tourney.

This is an awesome story. I saw it on sportscenter a few days ago and they had a article on it on the local news website. I just have to wonder, is he that good, or was it just his day to shine. If he is that good, why hasn't he been playing the whole year? Nevertheless, very moving story. I would take him on my team anyday.

What he did was truly amazing. He was definately in the zone that night. I loved how he said that the basket just seem to be a hugh bucket and the 3 pointers we like shooting freethrows. Every athlete knows what it is like when they are in that zone. It must be very special for him
