What College Major Complains The Most?

Teaching Majors. Oh wait, you're talking about while they are still in college. And not starting from the first day they show up for work through every single day of their careers.

This! Especially and almost without exception, female teachers! OH MY GOD! We get it, you spent two hours grading papers. LET IT GO
Aren't you a teacher?

Yep and coach, trust me, I know who does the whining about things. Like I said in the post above!
And here I thought you were totally going in a different direction...
Which direction did you think I was going?

I'm guessing it's something really stupid and easy, because the people that do engineering are actually smarter and can handle it. It's all about the ratio, so I'll go with business administration.
You must have known different engineering students than I did.
Are you saying they weren't smart or that they were smart but still had a hard time handling it?
They weren't stupid . . . they just complained a lot. Also, a lot of them lacked social skills. The end. :P

I was certain you were going to say Engineering. Because it sorta describes us based on what I've seen.
Oh yeah, engineering students totally complain the most WHILE in school, there is no arguing that. Lots of engineering students act like they are being naild to a cross every single day! haha

After school, its probably teachers though, that is what I was commenting on.

I can't argue with that. I'm not as socially awkward as most, but I also wasn't as smart :hmmph

I always thought those architecture students whined more than us, but I'm biased... Yes we did complain A LOT. I still complain. It was a rouch experience. The "real" world is so much easier.

You might bring up a good point, I don't remember a lot of architecture students, but gosh, if Mike Brady could do it, I am sure they could!

Haha I'm starting UNL's Masters program in teaching in a couple weeks. The female teachers thing is so true...never heard a male teacher complain (and i know plenty) but Ive had more than one female teacher ask me why I'm going into teaching. "I just graded papers for 4 hours on a Saturday. On a Saturday!!" Probably because the guys do what we do for our other responsibilities...grab a cold one and knock those papers out. Teaching is undoubtedly hard and a whirlwind for 9 months of the year. But geeez, you get 3 months of summer vacation and your job is ultra-secure. Things could be far worse.

switch that order - I "lost" a stack of papers that reeked of beer after an accident

I know the engineering fields have some of the highest 'washout' rates with people changing majors. A good friend of mine is a chemical engineer, and 4 hours of paper grading would be a dream compared to some of his weekends.

I think I know where you're going with this. I'll go with Engineering.

What do I win?
cant agree with you more, my friend is doing computer engineering and i hear about it all the time, "how about you try to write these codes, while i sleep during class for business ad."

You better check the job market before you spend a bunch of money on an M.ed. Last year our school district eliminated 50 teaching jobs and had a hiring freeze. Then tenure was eliminated by the Governor of Louisiana and most expect other states to do the same.

Job market is a little above average here from what ive heard. Ill be teaching science anyway which is always in higher demand than other subjects.

Ive gotten nothing but negativity from literally everyone that ive talked to when I said I'm going into teaching. f#*k all y'all.

Have you not taught yet and are getting your Masters first? In Ed Ad?

Yeah, you are going to basically be an outcast at the first school you go to. Not by everyone but by a nice majority of veterans teachers, don't say to much, don't act like you know everything and don't act like you want to change everything. That would be my advice oh and coach a sport so you have some coaching friends right away.
