Have not held a teaching job. I was a Secondary Ed major before switching to bio and graduating with a B.S. in Biology in December. Now I'm going back and getting a Master of Arts in Science Teaching. Ive done some tutoring and was a T.A. for a bio class (taught 2 sections a week) and have always thought about teaching so here we go...Have you not taught yet and are getting your Masters first? In Ed Ad?Job market is a little above average here from what ive heard. Ill be teaching science anyway which is always in higher demand than other subjects.
Ive gotten nothing but negativity from literally everyone that ive talked to when I said I'm going into teaching. f#*k all y'all.
Yeah, you are going to basically be an outcast at the first school you go to. Not by everyone but by a nice majority of veterans teachers, don't say to much, don't act like you know everything and don't act like you want to change everything. That would be my advice oh and coach a sport so you have some coaching friends right away.
Thanks for the advice. I'm not someone who wants to necessarily change the world and all that like I know some young teachers feel like they can do. I just want to be the best teacher I can be. I do hope to coach golf. Where do you teach at, just out of curiosity?
