Can't say it's something I learned this game, but I was once again reminded how the Game Thread brings out the worst posters with the most panicky and idiotic takes.
I guess four quarters of solid football and a clean blowout is always preferable, but for this team I actually think it was more valuable to have that third quarter struggle, see things going bad in that predictable here-we-go-again way, and then pull away on both sides of the ball in a very solid fourth quarter. It wasn't just winning a game, it was getting that other monkey off our back. We'll see.
Related: the video of the team going nuts in the locker room , bouncing around Mickey Joseph. Only a mental midget would not be happy for them, or take it as something to build on.
We're lucky to have Casey Thompson, Anthony Grant, and Trey Palmer. We're also in good hands with Mark Whipple. The guys on the Game Thread clamoring for Chubba Purdy or Logan Smothers.......I just don't get that.
Was it not the prettiest game? No. It wasn't always pretty, but it was fairly exciting. Did anyone watch the second half of the Kansas - Iowa State game featuring two coaches some think we should hire? That was some really arhythmic who-wants-it-least football being played out.
