What Did We Learn? - Michigan

So rude of Teach to not cash out his stocks for us not to get a better OT.

On the flip side: we did just this and Pritchett has been a dud so far. Be wary. The portal only has a finite amount of players at certain positions who are legitimately capable of being at this level. And everyone wants them.

I've said it before, but I'd hit up proven starters in FCS schools.....As an example, Marques Watson-Trent has 6 tackles at LB through 3 games, 1 sack and 1 TFL. Unsure about today. Get dudes who have played and started. Not projects who were on the roster at a P4 school and didn't play. Probably reasons they were not starting or challenging for playing time. Gronowski at Iowa doing well, Char Brown at Miami doing well. I'd assume OL/DL would show similar success.

History? I guess I’m on my own here about who has been historically flat out paying players.
We can pay players now too. Let’s fall back on morals tho instead ?
So you’re saying as a whole we never had one good transfer? Or are just disappointed with the o-line transfers? I would think since we’re trying to buy the pieces to DR successful we would start with the O-line. But Pritchett does seem to be a whiff

There’s a reason some of these guys are on the discount table.

I want to be clear that I’m not all about buying the hot now transfer LT but rather the recruits coming in from HS. Why do they constantly choose to ride the bench instead of play time right away?

Pritchert is an easy target but have we got our monies worth outside of WR’s?

I actually think Indiana is a better example as their coach made them immediately successful in year 1 and has them rolling in year 2 as well. I look for their coach to be promoted to a blue blood by next year. If Alabama struggles this year they may give Deboer the boot, but Clemson would be another program to look out for.

Replying to you since Indiana is a topic in the post, but for the community... Indiana played/beat one winning team last season - Michigan. Two, since we should count Nebraska getting their 7th win against BC. Also, their non cons were cupcakes.

We had a 52 yard Hail Mary. Dylan was sacked ~8 times. They dominated us.
And yet, we only lost by 3 points. This isn't the Michigan of 2 years ago by any means. We were manhandled up front, but we managed to stay in the game. We play better on the line on both sides of the ball, and this is probably a close win for us.

Like I said, we play poor fundamental football. We don't block well, and we don't tackle well.

Both things have cost us many games over the last 20 years.
