What did we learn?....Northwestern

I learned that I was not feeling angry to miss the first half. How sad is that?

Oh, and that we are a terrible football team. No running plays called in OT and a wonderful screen called that very rarely works.

I have learned that we have become more mediocre and less relevant in the B1G than my worst fears.  I really didn't thing we could be any more mediocre than what we looked like against OSU.  But Riley and crew found a way...

That this coaching staff hasn’t changed or progressed in 3 years.

Dog poo poo when they came in 2 years ago and 2 years later they’re still dog poo poo

Nothing.  Again

An OLine that couldn’t block a stationary object

A QB that makes poor choices often

A running game that consists of two plays primarily designed to give our center a colonoscopy

A defense that would be hurting in a game of two hand touch

Coordinators that refuse to think outside the box and get creative with calls

Special team play that doesn’t really exist

A .500 coach that is more concerned about chewing gum losing its flavor

A handful of kids that make great plays or play hard

Zero emotion

No accountability from anyone

injury is the only chance for the next guy up

And on and on

It’s the same book, just the ninth time it’s been read this year

I learned that a lot of fans gave up when we went to overtime. I saw a ton of people leaving before the start.

The "no running plays in OT" was a kick in the gut...another kick in the gut.  I"m a simpleton, but I figure if you even average 2.6 yards per carry, in a four down situation, you come out with a TD more often than not.  Glad I'm not a coach I guess...their thinking is obviously way beyond mine.

Screen game has been horrible for 3 years.  Let's try it in IT when we need a TD.  Coaches are in over their heads.

Run game inconsistent

Pass game was bad besides Speilman

Defense has a little fire but lacks intensity at times

Apparently not the Huskers coaching staff

I learned that Nebraska DOES have an identity.... it's self-sabotage.

This team makes some good plays on both sides of the ball and has some decent players...... but when it really comes down to crunch time, they will fail. The offense will fail, or the defense, or both. And 19 times out of 20, it will be self-inflicted.

18 play drive with a chance to go two scores up...... failed

1st down at Northwestern 20 with a chance to go two scores up..... failed spectacularly.

1st down at midfield with three time outs and a FG wins you the game..... failed again.

Failed, failed, failed, failed, failed.

Anyone else just love the play calling when it is 3rd and long but it is 4 down territory? It's like 3rd and 9 and we decide to throw the football even though it's 4 down territory, or potentially a 4 down territory. How about we run the football knowing we got another play?
