Franklin did it in year 3 and I'd argue from a worse place. 
I don't know that the PSU players were so far off.  Guys on both these teams look like they're a different species.  It's  going to take at least a full cycle of recruiting, and by a cycle I mean guys that are playing right now in high school playing four or five years of college, before we can consistently complete.  I guess that's why Frost has a seven year contract. 

 
Riley set us back at least three years by recruiting cream puffs. We do not have studs that can push the opposing lines back. Finesse might work in PAC 12 but in BIG, you need athletic giants. We do not have those, and our special teams are anything but special.
