What Did We Learn

Rex Burkhead for Heisman is what I learned :) 22 yards per carry is probably the best in the nation, right? I mean the numbers aren't great, certainly not Montee Ball caliber, but still pretty good ;)

I learned: that our defense appears to be improving (I think) each week since the UCLA game. Hopefully enough to win us the rest of our games.

That Braylon Heard is a beast. No lie, I really just learned this. He ran well.

That we could probably plug in Marrow, Zimmerer, or Janovich and see pretty much the same result. Good or bad? IDK. I'll say this though: based on what I've seen, I think Legate was a better fullback than the guys we currently have. I have big hopes for Janovich at that position though. Beef up son!

Where have you been for the last year and a half? :sarcasm

I really like watching Heard run the ball as well. I think next year we could see Heard jumping Ameer on the depth chart. Ameer is a great runner but he tries to out juke the defenders too much instead of relying on his speed to outrun the defender. Heard just runs fast, straight ahead and then jukes when needed.

I learn to put on white music on.....and it sounds wonderful

Alabama - I'm in a hurry

CCR - down on the corner

Billy Joel - Piano Man

1. Rex looked pretty close to 100%

2. Glad they decided to pound the rock early

3. Liked the tenacity of the D

4. Idaho St put the beat down on Black Hills State
Thats really what I was looking for today. Glad they did what they should've done to a team of ISU's calibur.

What I think we've learned thus far:

1. Offensively we're much improved over last year.

2. The secondary seems to be covering to their 2009 standards.

3. We are incredibly deep at RB.

4. The personnel moves in the defensive front seven seem to be just what was needed.

5. Eric Martin can really bring it off the edge. We need at least two or three more guys like him.

6. The OL, while not perfect, is progressing nicely.

The biggest questions we still have left to answer are:

A. Can we stuff the opponent's running game between the tackles?

B. We've dominated inferior opponents how will we do once the talent equals out?

C. Do we have an answer for Braxton Miller, Cain Kolter, and Dennard Robinson?

D. Will Beck stick to the running game when it is working?

I learned that ....nevermind, I didn't learn anything. Glad Chase Rome is back though.........and it was good to see a bunch of players get time.

I learned the starting punter can be a very viable option as the back up quarterback. And that Bronson marsh is the third quarterback. Seriously I was really wondering who it would be.

Heard has an extra gear.....a Reggie Bush gear.

This wasn't really the type of game to learn anything about the football team. Both teams did what they were supposed to do.

I don't think you learn anything in a game like this ... and I didn't watch it. Took a nap. I did notice we were able to accumulate 9 penalties for over 100 yards. Was the competition that great that this was needed? I read we had two turnovers. So, without watching the game ... I see we atleast kept those stats in line and should bode well to keep us in games that we should win easily rather then blowing them out.

I don't take alot of these big plays with much upside as you have to look at the competition. Glad lots of players got to play and some reps ... here's hoping this doesn't lead to a false sense of accomplishment ... more will be accomplished in a scrimmage against our 3rd to 4th stringers.

FYI, took off my red glasses to comment on this thread ... and again, didn't watch the game.
