What happened on the punt/fumble?

I was on a deer stand listening to the game with crappity service. Kampy fumbled the punt and I lost service. When i got it back Michigan had kicked a field goal. What happened I thought it was a td for Michigan.

Can't forward advance a muff...well the kicking team can't....so they got the ball there. 3 and out and their kicker lucked the ball in as it hit the upright and bounced in.

Recovered muffs on punts can't be advanced. No clue on why that rule is.

You could see Westerkamp take his eyes off the ball just before it got to him, took a quick glance upfield (because he had a lot of room to run) and then kind of shortarmed the catch. I bet he doesn't do that again this year.

And had plenty of room. Thought we might actually get a return. Apparently, so did he.

My wife actually had the quote off the game after this.

"Well Jordan the lord giveth and the lord taken away. The girls lined up for mustache rides after last week, and now probably think mustaches look gay."

I agree, he is a smart kid who may have just got "too" comfortable. Didn't keep his body in front of the ball, but young players make those mistakes.
