What incoming freshman will see playing time this year?

I expect Baker to do something....and I think Will Compton will see some time at linebacker for sure. I don't really see any freshman starters unless maaaaaybe Baker doms the d-line during the fall and maaaaybe Will is better than we thought. :dunno

 
I can see Baker, Compton, Whitmore, Cotton, Henry (still not sure on eligbility), and PJ Smith to all see PT at their positions, others might on special teams depending on the coaches. Some of these guys I mentioned could use a redshirt or just sit out a year, but with the teams need or in Henry's and Baker's case just pure talent and ability to play. I wish more came in early other than Hetzer and Spano but it doesn't matter, but the kids that do get a jump start from the rest of the class and really benefit from it usually(based on what players have said that came early)

The only guys I think we can be sure of seeing PT for next year are Compton and one of Whitmore or Dennard.

The rest of the guys will see PT based on who steps up and who does not. You don't want to play freshman unless you are absolutely forced to.

Guys like Micah K., Spano, Okafor, Thompson, Grant, both Osborne's, Bell and Ward are looking at RS'.

The last part is a complete guess, except for guys like Spano and Micah who will definitely redshirt.

Completely agree with you Willie. I think the Osborne's, Okafor, Micah and Spano would all do well to RS. I think Compton see's time at LB along with possibly Whaley, though size may be an issue with him.

 
what about meredith? is he gonna get any playing time? i'd heard had might when they were recruiting him.

 
Too bad Compton couldn't have graduated early, he could have pushed for a starting spot.

Baker at-least appears to be the big talent but he is behind experienced guys, hard to tell how much time he'll get.

I just hope everyone that burns the shirt get significant playing-time

 
I wish we had the talent and depth to RS them all, but I would think Compton and Baker have the best chance of seeing some pt.

How about Mason Wald?? I think he will be a big surprise i can see him coming in and playing at nickel back.....I really like the way he hits!

No freaking way Wald plays this year...especially as a db. I doubt he'll be much more than a special teams guy for his career.

Who knows?? We could be proved wrong. Maybe me saying he would play some this year is a bit of wishful thinking, but to go as far to say he wont be anything except a mere special teams specialist......i doubt that, the kid has HEART
