hahah, maybe. I'm not sure. I just remember my parents always made their version. And then got superstitious about it when the Huskers had a bad season...blaming it on the dip.

Then a few years back when I made my own version the Huskers won those games that day. Everytime I didn't make it, they lost. So now I continue to make it every time I can.

My recipe:

Huge slab of Kraft cheese (I believe the 1lb version)

can of rotel...I prefer "hot" but if other people are eating, I'll go for mild/medium

can of chili

garlic

put everything into a big pot and add a bit of garlic. cook on medium/medium high until nice and melted...stirring often so it doesn't burn.

Enjoy with chips!

My roomate isn't even a Nebraska fan but he'll sit and watch the games with me as long as I make my Rotel dip :)
