What Season Would You Prefer?

2009. I didn't have any high expectations for Bo in his second year as coach, so the way the season panned out pleased me. Even if the 2012 season happened in 2009 I would have been happy, it was just his second year, blowouts would have been expected. Year 5 though, not quite as excusable.

2009, no doubt. i will take over-performing over under-performing any day of the week and twice on sundays. not to mention, i have not been more excited about the huskers future than i was after that season since.

2009 definitely. we had a shot to win the conference championship. You can't say that for the 2012 season.
I really wish that we would be a ton more selective on the posts and posters we filter here. The above is a long line of stupid posts from a poster with a very well documented pedigree of stupid posts. You can't possibly say that going into that 2012 game that you didn't think we had a chance. Against Texas in 09 we weren't even favored to win that game. You are basing your opinion on one game and using it to take a cheap shot at the program. Go to HuskersOnline and you'll fit right in. But you won't here.
Actually i can. We had an awesome defense that could keep us in games. The only thing the offense had to do was not turn the ball over. Just because we aren't favored doesn't mean we can't win. That's why you play the game. The only game we got beaten by more than a couple of points during the whole season was Texas Tech. The 2009 team only lost 3 games during the regular season. The 2012 got demolshed twice during the regular season and didn't even bother showing up for the conference championship.
So are you saying you knew before the B1G Championship game, that we were going to get thumped by Wisconsin?
Exactly Speed.

The statement was that "You can't possibly say that going into that 2012 game you didn't think we had a chance."

He hasn't responded.

Or or Pelini got out coached again on the national stage. I might agree with you about mental exhaustion if we hadn't been getting blown out for the past 2 years. Plus it's always harder the second time around to beat a team twice during the season.
Are we gonna lose the UCLA game? You seem awfully psychic. I'd like to know. I live 100 miles from Lincoln and I dont wanna bother making the trip and spendin money on tickets and the necessary ammenities if we're gonna lose.

So spill the beans already. I'm sure everyone else would like to know as well.

It's not hard to see that since we moved to the Big Ten we started suffering blowout losses. There is a start to a pattern. The question is can Bo stop the pattern and fix it? Even though we gave up a lot of yards to UCLA we still had the chance to win it.

Losing to Iowa State at home is the same as a beat down on the road. 2012 team got demolished ONCE during the regular season. Although it was bad enough it could have felt like 2 times.

There has been a 3 TD loss in every season since 01-02 except for 06-07. Hardly just a Bo Pelini thing

He's got his mind made up.

I think Jason Peter joined the board.

Let me ask you something Husker_99, should the fullback touch the ball 15+ times a game????

I don't buy it. Here you had a Wisconsin team who was 7-5 and third best in their division going up against a Nebraska team who was 10-2 and first in their division. Wisconsin struggled to score. Nebraska in a couple games struggled to stop their opponents from scoring (UCLA and Ohio State). If Nebraska was constantly giving up 30 to the teams we played, I would be behind you if you said that Wisconsin was going to score 30 or more. But that wasn't the case.

It's hindsight bias. You didn't know that we were going to get thumped, because it hadn't happened yet. Only by getting thumped could you see the reasons why we could have been thumped by the Badgers. But nothing leading up to that game suggested it.

Good post buddy.

I chose the 09 season because down the stretch I don't think there was a team that year that wanted to play us. Every team in the nation would have had to show up and bring their A game.

I did too. Personally, I'm not a big fan of comebacks. While they provide a lot of drama and excitement; and I'm somehow more hyped for a win in which we were down 17 than for a win in which we were never behind, being behind suggested that you're doing something wrong. Plus we had Ndamukong Suh and that was really fun to say when he got a sack.

I too chose 09 but I would like to mention that it's such a shame we lost that 2012 CC game in such fashion because it damn near erases one of the greatest runs in Husker history completely from your memory. That run Taylor Martinez had was absolutely spectacular.

Starting tommorrow you have to start writing with your opposite hand at your job. No warning. Just boom. Write with your off hand, and you know this is going to be this way for the forseeable future. Let's see how long it takes for you to adjust, and how it effects your immediate situations. Kicker is, your handwriting with your good hand isnt all that great to begin with.

Stop using logic, don't you know this is HB? Logic doesn't work here.
