What Sooner fans think..

Well, the Sooner fans seem a whole lot more resonable in their game assessments. Mostly they are right on on everything but the final score. A refreshing change.

I think the Husker are going in with all the momentum and with the fan support, I look for an impressive outing. :corndance

Re: How do the Sooners match up with the huskers?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My break-down of the match-ups...

When Nebraska has the ball:

Look for the Huskers to come out with 11 players, who will line up in some sort of formation. The Sooners will counter with 11 players on the other side of the ball, in a formation of their own designed to foil the Nebraska plan, not unlike meddling hippies at a haunted amusement park.

When OU has the ball:

The Sooners may take a page out of the NU book on offense, bringing out our own version of the 11-man formation. Undaunted by our brazen attempt at idea theft, Nebraska will answer by adapting OUR "11 men standing across from the ball, ready to tackle" plan.

At least, that's how I see it breaking down.

They seem to be a lot more cautious than usual. They keep bringing up what Callahan should or should not do. "I hope he doesn't get smart and start that right away" <-- referring to passing more.

That might be the best assessment of this game I've heard yet...... :sarcasm

It will certainly be the most accurate! ;)

Yeah some of the fans are definitely concerned about Saturday's game and rightfully so I guess as I'm concerned about this game as well. I mentioned this once already (here and on another board) but I think this could be a trap game for OU. They're coming in having finished a good conference season and will more than likely be the Big 12's media darling this week. Their game against OSU I think took a lot out of them mentally and it could be tough for them to recover. Not too mention the media is going to be bringing up the Oregon officiating debacle and how OU "could've" been in the hunt for the MNC. Distractions are going to surround OU all week (Oregon game, Fiesta Bowl...yes fans and media are already talking about going...AD and whether or not he plays, etc). This has all the makings of a trap game for them. It happened in 2003 when they played K-State. Could happen again this Saturday. I've heard a few fans bringing up last years game in Lincoln and how they dominated us in Lincoln. They don't realize (or if they do, they're to ignorant to admit it) this years team is a far cry better than last years.

my god. that man is a genius. He's obviously a coach. that kind of analysis can only come from a coach- possibly at the pop warner level?

dominated? maybe at the start with their quick lead (which NU quickly made up) but the rest of the game was anything but dominant for them. some actual holding calls (i know thats a stretch since this is the big 12) and the score would have been the other way around.

This should be a good game imo. I honestly think we will win, and I think Mo is going to have a big day after being almost non-existent against sCUm.

We've been the underdog all year long and that's the way I want to keep it as far as I am concerned.......Let people think OU is going to beat us so that way when we beat them I can see the looks on their faces......

Sooner fans, from my experieence have always been nice.

I work win a sooners fan, we trade some good natured barbs between the teams. I know he is very concerned about playing NU. While he picks his own team, he would not be suprised at all if NU won.

I'm surrounded by Sooner fans and there's the typical jabbing going on, but most are really excited about this game and some are worried about their chances against NU.
