**** What we Learned - McNeese St Edition ****

Here's what I do not get:

Nobody on our LB group is new. There's not something new they have to learn. So why are we still so inept at covering RBs in the flat?

We have most of the season to wait and find out. A solid win against Fresno St next week does not mean that the Huskers learned their lesson. Especially since Fresno St didn't look even average last week.

This has been going on for as long as I can remember, and it's really, really worrying.

I want to believe that Bo is still an elite-caliber defensive mind.

If teams continue to be able to gash us like this and with the jet sweep, I'll have to adjust my thinking.

They did get b!^@h slapped fairly efficiently...

Hopefully this wakes them up now, instead of later, and they play angry and hungry the rest of this year...

Special Teams is much better.

Defense and offense took a step back.

Kenny Bell come back soon.

It's week 2, we can improve.

Trap game, but make or break. How do we respond? Do guys man up like ameer and the d to some extent on the goal line or do we see the team splinter?

 
Everybody on our offensive line needs to lose 40 pounds. That will make it much easier for Abdullah to carry them the entire season.

 
That we lack killer instinct because that 98 yard pick six flipped the game from a route to a close contest.

Oh, and Armstrong looks like Joe Bauserman at times.

How does a play that occurred in the 2nd quarter ruin the whole second half?

Good QBs and teams for that matter have short memories.

 
I learned that the close win is Sam Folz's fault. If he hadn't pinned the Cowboys deep in their own territory all the time, our defense wouldn't have had to be on the field for 12 play, 80 yard drives making them tired and the offense cold and rusty from sitting on the sidelines.
