What will it take to beat Iowa?

For piss-sakes cover Fiedorawicz, watch-out for the pick plays.

Be ready for the bootlegs PSU kept nailing us with, can't lose contain.

Tackle and take care of the cut-back lanes.

Get back to to blitzing more. Be creative, move Gregory and keep the blitzes varied.

Fumble or no the wildcat was a good call Saturday. I want to see more of it.

Don't get too cute and limit the horizontal passes Beck.

Get some damn blocking on punt returns. Sick of seeing camp fielding the ball surrounded by oppsing personnel

Ankle or no AA is running the ball great and he'll have plenty of time to heal after Friday. Feed him.

You can say this every week with us. TURNOVERS TURNOVERS TURNOVERS. Not only cut them down on O but our D hasn't forced many. We've been at one or no turnovers forced in a game for a good while now. Win the turnover battle and we'll be in great shape. Tie it and we'll be in good shape. Especially have to take care of the rock around the goalline on either end.

IMO this will be a great game, Iowa's offense is a type of offense we have struggled with lately. They like to pound the ball straight forward which gives us troubles. However, towards the end of the PSU game our line was doing a good job of setting the line of scrimmage. It will be key for our defense to not get pushed back and we need to hit them in the backfield. Iowa will also need to have an effective passing game to beat us and their QB throws interceptions so I hope when they do air it out SJB and Ciante can come up with some INTS. Another key to this game is turnovers. We had 5 against MSU and they had 4 against Michigan. Turnovers will be huge in this game and the team with the least amount will win I think.

Their run defense is good, but some of their fans are saying they are going to shut Abdullah down easily and he won't get his yards. Yes, they could do this but not even the #1 run defense in Michigan State could do that. An Iowa buddy of mine was saying he ins't even worried about Abdullah. I know Abdullah is banged up but he has been for the past 3 or 4 weeks and he is a gamer.
So it sounds like at least their fanbase is coming in cocky. Hope their players come in with the same attitude.

Ill stand by what I said. If we aren't negative in the turnover battle we will pull away from this team.
Yes, I would say their fans are very confident they will beat us, "Iowa is BY FAR the better team, and in no WAY they should be able to move the ball against our defense and should have a tough time scoring more than 17 points!"

Michigan State thought we wouldn't be able to move the ball on them either....bottom line, any defense is susceptible to Ameer.
That's exactly why I like our chances in a close game. I've told several of their fans it'll be a VERY close game, but the difference will be in AA. I told them if he gets the edge, you guys are screwed because he's gonna get it all day long. One of the saving graces for us is that Ferentz still coaches at Iowa, he's conservative to a fault and would punt the ball from the 50 yard line with a minute left even if he was down by 2 because "statistically" getting that 4th down would be tough even if it is a 4th and 1 to try and get closer to field goal range. I've watched A LOT of their games this season, their coaching staff isn't better than our coaching staff so we shouldn't get out coached in this game. Their TE Fedorowiz (spl) is a very good TE and their other running backs are more slashers than Weisman. With Ciante and SJB on the corners I think there is a good chance for a pick on Ruddock because he's still young and does make some silly mistakes. Obviously I like our chances of not turning the ball over more with RKIII than I do with TA, but it sounds like it won't matter as TA is having ankle issues and may not play.
