International Man of Mystery
This is blatantly stolen from Hail Varsity's mailbag, but it's a great question from a Husker fan:

What would the Husker Horseshoe be worth if were to be auctioned?

Would it crack $10,000? $50,000? More? Less?

If, arguendo, it were to be auctioned today, I can imagine a pretty significant bidding war developing between some of our wealthier Husker fans (sadly, not I).

Usually the saying is "it only takes one" though in this case I suppose it would take two to bid it up.

However, for that iconic piece of Husker history, I'd say it would get up there pretty good. I went 50,000+

I'm a blue collar guy who doesn't make a lot, but I'd bid half my salary on it. That being said, I'd come up way short. 50,000+

I make a pretty good living as a bank president out here in North Platte.

$100,000 would be my top dollar.

Depends on the Husker fan. Did Taylor Martinez touch it?

Just kidding.

It's worth a little over 9 cents a pound to me...

...if it were aluminum, I would pay 60 cents...

Sorry, I'm not very nostalgic.

I'd rather bid on Lil' Red, as long as it came with a guarantee we'd never see that abomination again.

The horseshoe? I wouldn't even try. Far deeper pockets than mine would prevail.

I'd have to go with Bowfin's offer per pound. Once it leaves the stadium it loses it's value pretty quickly imho.

Now..for the right to have it in your man-cave during the off season, so you know it's still active and going back there for every future team....line up the Brinks trucks.
